Midland Re-Entry Plan Parent Survey

Last week, the Illinois State Board of Education released their 2020 - 2021 guidance on returning to learn. The guidance encourages school districts to have students back in the classroom provided that we are in compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health Guidelines. This survey is designed to allow us to collect feedback from our community so that the administrative team and our staff can develop our return to school plan for this school year. Please keep in mind that all guidance and plans are continuing to change. Please take some time to day and fill out our survey. Thank you! #twolve7pride

Midland Re-Entry Plan Update

Good afternoon,
As many of you are aware, the governor as well as the Illinois State Board of Education issued guidelines for all Illinois school districts for the start of school this fall. We want the community to know as we develop our re-entry plan as a district, the health and safety of our students and staff are the most important part of our plan. Within the 63 page document from ISBE were guidelines to follow but additionally the recommendation to get as many students back into the classrooms as possible. In a nutshell, schools have a few choices as they move towards the fall: 1. Full Remote Learning 2. Blended Learning (Few days at school each week with Remote Learning to supplement the rest of the week) 3. Full Student Implementation with social distancing protocols in place) Please remember, we probably have similar concerns and questions as you do, but we are bound by the guidelines as well. This message is to inform you of the stages ahead. We are developing a transition team designed with the task of creating Midland’s Re-Entry plan. There will be numerous stakeholders on this team consisting of teachers, admin, support staff, nurses, guidance counselors, and bus drivers. You, as parents and community members, will be asked for input within the next few weeks. After we gather as much information as possible, we will begin to craft our re-entry plan. We will meet as much as we need to in order to create the best possible plan for our district. Our hope is to have a comprehensive document by the July board meeting. After the document is approved and/or amended, we will begin the communication phase prior to the start of school. This will be a monumental task for everyone involved, so please remain patient and remember we are all in this together. Lets be part of the solution together, not part of the problem. Our goal is to come out of this stronger and more united than ever. Thank you…..and Remember…...It is always a Great Day to be a Timberwolf.
