I have been employed by Midland district since January 2015. Mostly, I am a substitute teacher, at the Elementary/Middle School levels, but I also work in the Unit Office as a part-time secretary/bookkeeper. You can also find me filling in for the school secretaries, when needed. In addition to working at Midland, I also work part-time at Great Oaks Camp in Lacon.
I am from Texas, born and raised. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Even though I have an education degree, I have never "formally" taught in the classroom. After college graduation, I worked for 3 years at my home church in Waco. In the Fall of 2005, I started Logsdon Seminary on the Hardin-Simmons campus in Abilene, Texas. I graduated from Logsdon in 2008, with a Master of Arts in Family Ministry.
My husband and I moved to Lacon, Illinois, in March of 2009. We both live and work at Great Oaks Camp in Lacon, which is a non-profit Christian camp, offering free weeks of camp to inner-city kids from Peoria, as well as hosting guest groups: churches, school, corporate groups, et.c for overnight stays and day uses of our Adventure Challenge Course.
